A Little Bit About Ramon
A highly accomplished bass player with a rich musical history, Ramon is a Fulbright Scholar from South Africa.
In 2011, Ramon joined Starlight Music in New York, where he continues to work as a bandleader, music director, and production manager. He also leads the band, Onyx. In addition to my performance roles, Ramon has a passion for music education, having done masterclasses, taught university-level classes, and given one-on-one instruction around the world. He studied Jazz Performance (BMus) at the University of Cape Town and later Jazz Composition (MMus) at New York University.
Additional music education experience includes many, many church services, Lounge 021 @ Swingers in Cape Town, the Village Underground NYC and the NYC music scene in general.
